One morning, after a snow storm we had overnight, I hurried to finish my breakfast, so I could shovel for my neighbors. They are an older couple and I think they could really use a shoveling hand. But, before I had a chance to go out, they had already shoveled their walkway and mine. Ugh! Really? I was thankful for the kind act, but they didn’t have to do that. I was upset I didn’t get to do it for them and on top of that they did it for me! It was like they had stolen my ‘act of giving’ from me. Am I talking crazy here? Okay, maybe if I give a little background, I won’t sound as crazy. My mom is…

I just came across this session from a while ago and I just had to share. I remembered that when I got to this little guy’s house, he was all smiles with me. We played for a little bit to warm up for our session although he didn’t really need to warm up much; he was as happy and playful as a baby can be. After a little while, I went to reach for my camera inside my bag and… uh oh! As soon as he saw the camera, he broke into tears and went to hide behind his mommy. I saw the look on mom’s face. She was so disappointed and ready to reschedule. But, I wasn’t ready to let such tiny detail affect us. We just needed…

Sometimes, I feel like I am running around in circles trying to get all these things done. At the end of the day I ask myself, what did even I do? It feels like I am nowhere close to being done with what’s on my list! Craziness. It is like running a marathon with no finish line.
….My plane arrived early to Chicago O’Hare airport. Great news! I had more than 10 minutes to catch my connecting flight on the opposite side of the airport. I only had to… get off the airplane, take the elevator down, walk through the underground tunnel, take the elevator back up, take another elevator, ride the tram, take the elevator down, and walk to the gate. That was all. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I had two kids with me, my camera/diaper bag, and two rolling suitcases. Ha! Yes, I was sweating. But, the only way this whole excursion was even possible was because I was ‘wearing’ Neo. Thank goodness for baby carriers. Who would have thought I would be so grateful for them?…

….These three monkeys met when a little over three years ago. It may not seem like a long time, but for them it is more than half a lifetime. They used to go to the same preschool. I remember the first weeks of preschool… they were only 2 years old and nobody wanted to play with each other. A few weeks later, they were inseparable. After one year of friendship, they had to say good-bye. We moved away. They didn’t see each other again until recently. Almost 3 years later, they met again. I didn’t know what to expect because I wasn’t sure they would even remember their names. But, they did!!! They played like no time had passed. “A friend is one of…

….This is going to sound prehistoric, but it is true. I used to put ‘tangible’ inspiration boards together. No. Really. I had to do it for interior design school. Then, I did it for the hospitality design firm I worked for. Although we were designing hotels, it seemed like these boards were our ultimate goal sometimes, hahaha. These boards were not only a collection of images, but they actually had samples of materials and textures. Inspiration boards turned into concept boards, concept boards turned into presentation boards, and eventually they turned into final design boards. It was serious board making business. That is how we communicated our ideas to our clients. Then, I became very environmentally conscious and decided to create digital boards for…

….My clients mean so much to me. They keep my dream alive. My dream is to do continue doing my passion, photography, as a business for the rest of my life. Yes, that’s right. I do not ever want to retire from doing this. Ever. That is probably why I don’t mind spending so much time on details like I mentioned HERE before. The other day, I received this little card in the mail. I can’t even explain how appreciated I felt. First of all, I love children’s artwork, so they got me there. Secondly, I have such a special bond with this little artist because I have known him since he was in the womb. I’ve had the opportunity to see him grow…
