Sunday School

….My mom had been telling me for years Why don’t you teach the religious class? I never listened. I was too busy doing other stuff. Plus, to be honest, I never felt like I was good enough to do that. I felt like I needed to be some sort of saint to be in that position. Plus, I am not a teacher.
Last year, Julian started to go to Sunday school (or religious class). One times that I came to pick him up I saw his teacher (a super sweet lady by the way) trying to help a bunch of little kids with their craft and so I offered to help. After the class, his teacher and I got to chat for a little bit. I came to find out that the reason she ended up with all these kids (pre-k and k level) was because the old pre-k teacher had left.
It’s funny how things work out. After that day, I continued to help. After a while, I ended up taking the preschool group. Once again… I should have listened to my mom… I really enjoy doing this.
I have no experience teaching (other than tutoring), but I do have lots of experience playing I figured ;) It has been an unexpected ride. I have done everything from puppet shows, to acting, and storytelling… lots os unpredictable crazy fun. Obviously, this has only worked out so great because it is little people I am dealing with. Otherwise, I think I would be in trouble.
Anyways, the point here is listen to your mother, hahaha… Noooooo, that is no fun, right Julian???!
We took this photo on the last class a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, a lot of kids were missing that day. But, at least I have something to remember them. I miss them already.
