All portrait sessions are shot on location with natural light. We can shoot in the comfort of your own home or at an agreed upon outdoor location. While it is important to choose a time of the day that your child is happiest, keep in mind that the ideal light for my outdoor sessions is just after sunrise and right before sunset. For indoor sessions, any time of the day works, as long as we choose a room that has ample sunlight filtering through. Porches are always a great alternative because they offer us soft, open shade.

Before Session
You will receive a Welcome Guide to help you prepare for your session. This guide will cover from what to wear tips to how to wall display ideas for your home. We will work together via e-mail to create a theme for your session that will include the perfect location, outfits, and props if desired. A personal consultation is also available to you if you would like me to come give the final okay to your selections. It is also a great opportunity for us to meet prior to the shoot. This is especially helpful for some children. It helps them feel more comfortable on session day.

During Session
Forget stress and worrying “how the kids will do”–I take a very relaxed approach to my sessions. Rest assured that I will never ask your children to “say cheese,” “look at the camera” or “sit still and smile,” but will instead interact with them naturally. I’ll be able to capture your children being themselves. I may point out a great patch of light or lovely background to set the scene, but then I’ll take a step back and allow those real moments to emerge.

After Session
I will start editing your photos. Each one of your images is crafted individually. After all, I consider each one of them a piece of art. Your gallery of images will be live approximately 2-4 weeks after your session. You will receive a link via e-mail as soon as it is ready. It will be live for 7 days.
You will then have the option to place your order via phone, e-mail, or schedule an in-home ordering appointment.
